Tips from other Traders:

General

  1. bring small change
  2. bring a beach umbrella, hat and sunscreen, also have warm clothes, it is Cape Town and there WILL be 4 seasons in one day.
  3. Put price labels on your products. (some people don't like asking)
  4. Know your price, and how much wiggle room you have to haggle with, people shopping on markets want to feel they are getting a good deal, and even a bargain here and there.
  5. Have packaging for your products, bags, wrapping paper, if you sell fragile products provide appropriate packaging (try to keep it green!)
  6. Bring a chair, its a long day. (folding camp/beach chairs are comfy and easy to handle)
  7. Bring enough stock to make a nice display, you can take leftovers home but it is hard if you run out!
  8. bring "props" and a tablecloth to dress your stand, if you sell clothing it displays better on a rail than a pile, etc.
  9. bring a sense of humour and a smile.
